Welcome in!
The long-winded version: I’m a 38-year-old woman born and raised on Cape Cod. I live in the Sunset, in San Francisco, with my oil painting boyfriend and our two young kids. In my sophomore year at FIT, I found yoga on St. Mark’s and was soon skipping my art classes to go there. Unfortunately (or fortunately? Who knows), I had a nervous breakdown that was brought on by my eating disorder and copious amounts of Adderall. I dropped out of college for the second time and fumbled my way to San Francisco in 2009 (This is a lot, I know, but it gets better!). As many people do when their lives are falling apart, I took a teacher training in 2011. I’ve made a career of teaching, mentoring, and being the video model for the Down Dog app for the last seven years (we recently parted ways to preserve my mental and physical health). In 2019, I stumbled into a little breathwork pop-up in SF, called Open, and soon after became one of their founding teachers. Like many online platforms, the creatively named, Living Room Yoga, was born out of necessity but has become an essential part of my life and thousands of others. I’ve been sending out classes (visit link in profile to try them free!) and writing weekly newsletters, since March of 2020 and recently moved my Dear-Diary-what-am-i-doing love letters over to this corner of the internet.
TLDR: I’m a mom, yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher who loves to write. I have a deep unending passion for nonviolent communication and trauma-informed practices. I prioritize freedom and fun above all else, and I’m happy you’re here.
Who are you?
You love long rambling notes that grapple with being human. You like fun, I imagine. And to laugh, a given. You also enjoy moving your body and sometimes meditating.
Be a part of one of the most loving corners of the internet.
Because I am nosy, I have tried to get to know as many of you as I can in the last four years and it’s made my life that much better. Every response to a newsletter has been read, tears shed, and joys shared. I’m looking forward to doing more of that here.
